INTRODUCTION

Coaching can provide a very powerful development tool that can unlock potential, increase motivation, create better problem solving, develop greater self-confidence, and heighten performance, to name a few.  It is of strategic importance that an organization is able to develop its people to achieve continued, sustainable growth.  Having confident, well-trained Coaches in the organization will provide powerful development mechanisms to achieve this aim.

This Mastering the Art of Coaching training course has been designed and developed to equip participants with the required knowledge, understanding and skills to develop fully competent Coaches within the organization.  You will learn how to effectively coach, the methodologies and models used in coaching skills to develop others, create challenging objectives, as well as developing the key interpersonal skills needed to be a successful workplace Coach. In addition, you will also learn a proven powerful feedback technique ensuring that the individual will take action on the feedback given.  By the end of this training course you will have the confidence to coach, as well as train and develop others in coaching.

  • Active listening technique
  • How to develop rapport and build trust with the individual

  • Peer-to-peer coaching session using a coaching model
  • Knowing when to Mentor - using the Mentor Model©

DAY 3

Increasing Performance through Coaching

  • Using Advanced Powerful Questions technique for coaching
  • Coaching under-performers to high potential
  • Coaching practice
    • Coaching practice building on the learning from the three days of the course
  • Coaching in difficult situations, handling conflict and grievance
  • How to coach groups/teams for increased performance
  • Giving powerful feedback: technique and practice

DAY 4

Developing Others to Coach

  • How and why people learn and develop
  • Diagnosing need: establishing the purpose of a coaching or mentoring session
  • Defining Performance Management in the business
  • Setting defined objectives for maximum performance
  • Action planning: creating realistic and stretching development plan
  • Coaching session with development planning
    • Utilising practical skills gained on the training course

DAY 5

Developing a Coaching Culture in the Organisation

  • Developing a Coaching (and Mentoring) culture in the organisation
  • Policies and procedures
    • Establishing coaching and mentoring policies and procedures
  • Final Practical coaching exercise
    • Practical coaching session, bringing all the learning together
  • 1-2-1 feedback by the Tutor
  • Next steps
    • Application in the workplace: delegate commitment and plan
    • Developing your experience as a Workplace Coach
  • Review and Evaluation
Certificates
  • On successful completion of this training course, GLOMACS Certificate will be awarded to the delegates
  • Continuing Professional Education credits (CPE) : In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsor, one CPE credit is granted per 50 minutes of attendance
