INTRODUCTION
The training seminar will focus on Electrical Inspection and Testing which involves some degree of hazard. It is the inspector’s duty to ensure their own safety and that of others. The training seminar is based on IEC 60364 (Low voltage Inspection and Testing and Medium voltage systems).
The focus will be on:
- Initial verification, commissioning and periodic inspection and testing
- Inspection and testing regime ensure the safety of people and property
- Installed equipment is of the correct type and is safe for continuing use.
- The electrical system is safe for continuing use.
- The electrical system has not been damaged or otherwise defective
- For the identification any possible defects that may cause danger
Objectives
Delegates will gain an appreciation of the following:
- Knowledge on the statutory requirements and non-statutory requirements
- The definitive LV/MV standards for an effective inspection and testing regime
- A detailed knowledge of an effective inspection process
- Delegates will gain a detailed knowledge of the types of test equipment
Training Methodology
Participants will receive a copy of the course notes and the presenter will outline and discuss the topics using ‘power point’ displays and DVD’s. The training course is designed to have an interactive format, to maximize delegate participation. Questions and answers are encouraged throughout and at the daily roundup sessions. Needs-Based case-studies and examples will be introduced and discussed in problem solving workshop sessions. Only minimum note taking is encouraged, to ensure maximum delegate attention during the training course.
