INTRODUCTION

This unique program will provide delegates with the latest in techniques and innovations in the field of Human Resources.

Many of the tools used and shown will allow participants to make immediate and quantifiable value changes to their organization immediately when returning to work.   • Understand and be able to analyse how pay and reward systems work and which will produce the best results
  • Know and be able to develop HR function capability to benefit your organisation.

  • The key functions of a modern HR function or the key activities HR needs to focus on – the HR activities map
  • Where strategy fits with the vision, mission and operating plans
  • The new HR model – 10 step input needed to form a HR strategy
  • Understanding how HR specific strategy can add value
  • The strategic model and how it works
  • The formation of strategic objectives and how to translate them into the HR 6S model (Shared values, Staff, System Structure, Skills and Style)

Day 2

What’s expected of today’s HR?

  • The reason to why executives need predictive information
  • The history of organizational design
  • Organization structure – innovations in design and results
  • What design is best for your organisation
  • The use of predictive techniques for manpower planning
  • Case Study: How this works and its value in forecasting the future, using retrospective data as a starting point
  • Practical Exercise: Analysing the trends and practice
  • Calculating the real cost of people in the organisation by showing the cost of poor productivity
  • Reviewing other predictive factors, succession planning and emergency planning

Day 3

Tools and techniques to get results

  • Understanding downsizing its advantage to organisations
  • Techniques to quickly right size your organisation for either contraction or expansion – practical exercise with a full worked example –delegates will be able to do this for themselves when they return to work
  • Applying the HR productivity dashboard as a way to measure the effectiveness of the organisation and showing HR added value
  • Practical Exercise: Leadership and management style what it is and how to measure it – Questionnaire and self diagnostic
  • The role of change and corporate culture
  • Getting the best from recruitment as a strategy to HR effectiveness
  • DVD Clip: Maximising the results from performance appraisal
  • Ways to get the most from your investment in training
  • HR as an internal consultant DVD and case study
