Introduction
The asset register is the authoritative record of what an organisation owns, where it is located, who is accountable for it and what condition it is in. When it is accurate, it supports reliable maintenance planning, credible financial reporting and defensible audit outcomes. In practice, registers degrade: records are created inconsistently at project handover, assets move without notification, tags are lost, duplicates accumulate and disposals go unposted.
This training course provides a practical framework for building, verifying, reconciling and controlling the asset register. Module I covers the design of the register itself, from governance and classification through tagging, master data and data quality. Module II covers assurance, from physical verification and exception management through reconciliation, disposal controls and audit readiness.
