Course Description

Introduction

In the past few decades, the growth rate in the wind energy sector has reached the most phenomenal among all renewable energy sources. Helping the domestic wind energy industry to achieve occupational health and safety excellence is a major strategic goal by local authority. This effort is being led by Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) training. The training programs provide solutions to health and safety concerns specific to the wind industry as there are many hazardous operations and risky activities.

Some workers are unaware of the potential hazards present in their work environment, which makes them more vulnerable to the danger of work-related injuries. They may also expose their fellows to imminent dangers while working. Illustration is important for making working procedures easy for operation and to enhance safety programs. This training course will be a comprehensive “core skills” program that includes the operation safety techniques guided by professional instructor.

Objectives

By the end of this GLOMACS training course, the participants will be able to:

  • Energized equipment (Motor control centers and switchgears)
  • Damaged electrical power tools and equipment
  • Protective Systems and Devices
  • Lockout tag out
  • Safe operation of electrical equipment
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)

DAY THREE: FIRE SAFETY 

  • Introduction to fire chemistry
  • Flammable and combustible liquid storage and handling
  • Basic fire fighting
  • Types and operation of Portable Fire Extinguishers
  • Fire protection and alarm system

DAY FOUR: WORKING AT HEIGHTS 

  • Categories of working at heights
  • Fall Protection systems and Plans
  • Fitment and Inspection
  • Suspension Trauma
  • Height Safety PPE
  • Rescue planning
  • Competent person

 DAY FIVE: EMERGENCY PLANNING AND RESPONSE 

  • Emergency response plan
  • Emergency escape procedures
  • Major and minor scenarios
  • Housekeeping and emergency
  • Responsibilities of personnel
Certificates
  • On successful completion of this training course, GLOMACS Certificate will be awarded to the delegates
  • Continuing Professional Education credits (CPE) : In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsor, one CPE credit is granted per 50 minutes of attendance
