Course Description

INTRODUCTION

This training course will present the key activities involved in operation, control, maintenance and troubleshooting of gas compressors. These activities are vitally important for the efficient and safe operation of the plant.

This training course is intended to familiarize engineers, technicians and operators with compressor condition monitoring techniques which are used as a technical approach to failure prevention. The training course will also discuss vibration measurements and guidelines for preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance. Keeping compressor vibration under control makes a big impact on the long life of bearings, seals and other elements which improve compressor reliability and safety. The training course will provide the best practices for various maintenance techniques including overhauling and repair. Problem solving and troubleshooting techniques as well as the methods for extending the lifetime of equipment will be discussed and explained

The GLOMACS Maintenance of Gas Compressors training course will feature:

  • Best practices for preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance
  • Root cause analysis of compressor vibration
  • Guidelines how to diagnose the level of deterioration of bearings
  • Safe operation of compressors and driving machines
  • Techniques for problem solving and troubleshooting

Objectives

By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:

  • Implement the correct preventive and predictive maintenance method.
  • Apply elements of condition monitoring
  • Interpret results of compressor vibration
  • Better understand bearing failures
  • Use methodologies for problem solving and troubleshooting

Training Methodology

This training course will be conducted along workshop principles, which will combine lectures with active delegate participation including problem solving and discussions. Several practical examples will be presented, and the focus will be on technical principles and clear technical reasoning.

Workshops will include case studies and will be presented with explanation on operational and maintenance problem solving methodology. Various examples from real-life technical practice will be included and combined with video animations to help gain the confidence in making right decision regarding efficient preventive and predictive maintenance and long operational life.
