INTRODUCTION
In the rapidly evolving industrial landscape, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of various processes. SCADA systems provide real-time monitoring and control, enabling operators to make informed decisions, optimize production, and respond swiftly to any anomalies.
For instrumentation and control engineers, proficiency in SCADA tools is not just beneficial but essential. These tools are integral to the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex automation systems that drive industries such as oil and gas, water management, manufacturing, and more. This training course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to harness the power of SCADA systems effectively.
This GLOMACS training course will highlight the following topics:
- SCADA System Architecture and Components
- Telemetry Communication Protocols
- HMI Design and Development
- SCADA System Security Measures
- Advanced Features and Trend Analysis
Objectives
By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:
- Understand SCADA System Architecture and Components
- Configure and Program SCADA Systems
- Implement Telemetry Systems
- Enhance SCADA System Security and Maintenance
- Apply Advanced SCADA Features and Techniques
Training Methodology
This Practical SCADA and Telemetry System training course is delivered via a series of mixed activities which will involve delegate participation. Theoretical content is delivered by informal lecture and discussion and supplemented where appropriate with tutorial sessions using worked examples. An opportunity is given for delegates to perform their own calculations based on sample systems. An important part of the program is the hands-on aspect. Approximately, a quarter of the total time will be devoted to practical activities. Delegates will acquire the skills to design their own instrumentation system from a given sensor(s) and specification.
Organisational Impact
By attending this training course, the delegate will return to their company with more confidence and knowledge in using sensors and instrumentation systems generally. More specifically, they will:
- Implementing advanced SCADA systems can lead to more efficient monitoring and control of industrial processes.
- Improved efficiency and reduced downtime can result in significant cost savings for the organization.
- Better control and monitoring can enhance workplace safety by reducing the risk of accidents and failures.
- Organizations with advanced telemetry and SCADA capabilities can stay ahead of competitors by leveraging the latest technologies
- Equipped with new skills and knowledge which must impact positively within the company structure
Personal Impact
The delegates will benefit personally from attending this training course and will enhance their own knowledge-base and level of confidence in the area of Sensor Technologies and Process Control Engineering. Specifically, the delegate will be able to:
- Participants gain hands-on experience with industry-standard PLCs, telemetry systems, and SCADA software, enhancing their technical skills.
- Acquiring advanced knowledge in these areas can open up career growth.
- Hands-on training helps build confidence in handling complex systems and troubleshooting issues.
- Participants learn to design, build, and test programs, improving their problem-solving skills
- Make informed decisions on methods of conveying data
