Course Description

INTRODUCTION

Developing countries have added more clean power capacity than fossil fuel generation for the first time ever, charging ahead of wealthier nations in the global green energy push, Renewable energies are those generated from sources that do not have a finite end, or those that can be recycled, typically from natural sources - like solar power, wind power and water power.

Distributed energy resources increases the efficiency of electrical power generations, transmission and distribution it also lower carbon footprint for a greener world. It includes the ‘green generation’ of electricity by means of PV solar systems, wind power technology, geothermal technology, hydro power, ocean waves and biomass which includes the production of ethanol.

In addition the introduction and merits of the smart grids are also discussed in this Renewable Energy Including Ethanol Production training course. A smart grid also facilitates switch from conventional energy to renewable energy. In case of having a source of renewable energy in the facility, the grid allows an easy access to integrate it into the grid. Smart grid permits greater penetration of highly variable renewable sources of energy, such as wind power and solar energy.

Objectives

By the end of this Renewable Energy Including Ethanol Production training course, you will be able to:

  • Appreciate the different types of renewable energy generation
  • Describe the components of a smart grid
  • Understand the merits and composition of solar, wind and hydro power generation
  • Comprehend the principles of geothermal and biomass green energy
  • Understand the various types of biomass renewable energy
  • Explain the production of ethanol

Training Methodology

Participants will receive a copy of the comprehensive training course notes. The presenter will outline and discuss the topics using PowerPoint displays and videos. The training course is designed to have an interactive format, to maximize delegate participation. Questions and answers are encouraged throughout and at the daily roundup sessions. Needs-based case-studies and examples will be introduced and discussed, in problem solving workshop sessions.

Organisational Impact

Upon completion of this GLOMACS training course the organisational impact would be:

  • Shared experiences of others
  • Carefully selected examples and case studies used to illustrate the material being discussed
  • Emphasis given to ensure that the material is appropriate to the organisations represented
  • Each delegate should leave with an awareness of reducing carbon footprint and global warming effects
  • How new renewable energy technologies can assist in improving the environment and economy

Personal Impact

On successful completion of this Renewable Energy Including Ethanol Production training course, delegates will be able to:

  • Appreciate how renewable energy reduces the carbon footprint
