INTRODUCTION
The challenge of an LNG FPSO, is adapting the known onshore technologies to an offshore environment, with motion impacts affecting the process and offloading, as well as space limitations. This 5-day GLOMACS FLNG Design and Technology training seminar will guide the participant through all the phases of the project from concept design, construction and interfaces to commissioning, start-up and handover.
This GLOMACS training seminar gives a valuable, detailed insight into Floating Liquid Natural Gas development encompassing technical complexities, key design issues, critical drivers and risks related to LNG FPSOs and FRSUs. This GLOMACS training seminar will arm the participant with a wealth of knowledge to help them advance their project.
This GLOMACS training seminar will feature:
- The Design Drivers for the Overall Vessel, Topside, Hull and Mooring Systems
- Liquefaction Technologies and Regasification and Offshore LNG Transfer Systems
- Safety, Risk Assessment and Integration Aspects of LNG Production on a Floating Facility
- Dynamic Process Simulation Examples
- Selection Requirements for Equipment and Material
- Interfaces and Commissioning
Objectives
By the end of this GLOMACS training seminar, participants will be able to:
- Identify the Key Design Requirements for an FLNG
- Recognize the Effects of the Ocean Environment on FLNG Design
- Understand the Liquefaction and Regasification Technologies
- Interpret Applicable Rules and Regulations, Industry Standards and Regulations and Environmental Considerations
- Appreciate safety in Design and Operation
Training Methodology
This GLOMACS FLNG Design and Technology training seminar will utilise a variety of proven adult learning techniques to ensure maximum understanding, comprehension and retention of the information presented. The daily workshops will be highly interactive and participative. This involves regular discussion between both delegates and training seminar director. The GLOMACS training seminar will provide the participant with an in-depth knowledge through detailed information, real-life case studies, photos and video animation.
Organisational Impact
FLNG is new – to date there is not a fully operating vessel yet. There are no “go-by’s” or “lesson learned”. Bringing onshore LNG technologies in an offshore environment is a real challenge. It requires engineers and designers from three different industries to team up and understand each other’s approach and requirements. To keep the project within budget and schedule it is important to have educated, knowledgeable and well-trained personnel that:
- Understand the entire project from the well to export of the end product
- Is aware of the main selection criteria in regard to equipment operating conditions and safety considerations
- Appreciate the interdisciplinary nature and teamwork required for successful projects
- Understands the rules, regulations and industry standards
- Adopts the industry best practices
- Have a risk based approach
In sending delegates to this GLOMACS training seminar, the organisation will gain the following benefits:
- Develop a technically strong team
- Increase efficiency
- Realise higher performance at lower costs within compliance
- Control project budget and prevent overruns
Personal Impact
Understanding of the entire project will provide the participants with the tools necessary to find answers and solutions and to make appropriate decisions to progress in present and future projects.
This GLOMACS training seminar will provide multidisciplinary understanding of:
- Key design considerations of the overall facility
- The impact of rules and regulations on the design of the facility
- The impact of your role in the project
- The importance of interdisciplinary nature and teamwork required to achieve successful projects
- How and why things could go wrong
