Introduction
This International Hydrocarbon Safety training course will be instrumental in reducing incidents and increasing profits. Incidents are rarely caused by a single catastrophic failure, but rather by multiple events or failures that coincide. Unfortunately, incidents keep occurring with losses that may be singularly horrendous or seemingly small but, in the end, add up to the difference in operating a profitable organisation or a loss-making enterprise.
Leading Authorities in Hydrocarbon Safety are OSHA (the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the United States) the HSE (Health and Safety Executive of the United Kingdom) and the European Commission on the Environment. This training course will study what these Authorities have to offer in terms of advice and legislation within their own jurisdictions. It is an excellent practice to look not only what is applicable in terms of policies and procedures within our own organisation but also what has been developed in other countries.
Objectives
At the end of this International Hydrocarbon Safety training course, you will learn to:
- Understand what process safety is
- Explain the need for HAZOP studies
