Introduction
This LCA Methodology, Tools and Data Interpretation training course provides participants with a structured understanding of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and its application to evaluating environmental impacts across products, processes, projects and value chains. As organisations strengthen sustainability and ESG commitments, LCA provides an internationally recognised methodology for examining environmental performance across the complete life cycle rather than focusing on individual activities or isolated impacts.
Participants will work through the principal stages of LCA in accordance with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044, covering goal and scope definition, system boundaries, functional units, Life Cycle Inventory (LCI), Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA), interpretation and reporting. The course also introduces commonly used LCA databases and software tools while addressing data quality, allocation, uncertainty, sensitivity and critical review. Applications across energy, construction, manufacturing and transport are explored alongside carbon footprinting, Product Environmental Footprints, eco-design, circular economy and related life-cycle approaches.
