Introduction

The Commissioning Process begins at project Pre-Design Phase and continues for the life of the facility (through the Occupancy and Operations Phase). Project commissioning is a quality-oriented process for achieving, verifying, and documenting that the performance of facilities, systems, and assemblies meets defined objectives and criteria. and the commissioning team will perform the needed processes and acceptance tests to achieve these requirements.

Knowing the scope of work, and the time and resources needed are not enough to reach the goals, we will work together during this course to transfer his headline into knowledge, details, schedule, and defined roles, responsibilities and boundaries. The professional commissioning of a new project is the proper starting for a smooth operation, less maintenance tasks and modifications, and a longer life cycle project.

This training course on Project Commissioning will define how the Commissioning processes is selected to match the project size, complexity, and system components to ensure that design requirements are met. Commissioning processes and acceptance tests documentations are essential in properly and smoothly managing the project through its life cycle.

This GLOMACS training course on Project Commissioning will highlight:

  • Stakeholders roles and responsibilities
  • Tasks to be performed
  • Commissioning integrity
  • Administration close-outs
  • Technical close-outs including warranties

Objectives

By the end of this Project Commissioning training course, participants will learn to:

  • Determine the needed documents before commissioning initiation
  • Develop the plan and schedule to perform the commissioning tasks
  • Apply the schedule
  • Analyze the results and modify the schedule if needed
  • Determine and deliver the close-out documents

Training Methodology

Frequently Asked Question

Project Commissioning is the structured process of verifying and validating that all systems, equipment and facilities have been designed, constructed, tested and integrated to operate safely and efficiently before being handed over to Operations. Successful commissioning helps minimise start-up problems, improves safety, reduces operational risk and increases confidence that the asset will perform as intended.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that commissioning begins near project completion. In reality, commissioning should begin during the earliest stages of project development, influencing requirements, design reviews, procurement decisions, testing strategies and construction planning. Early commissioning involvement significantly reduces rework, delays and operational issues.

Mechanical Completion confirms that equipment has been installed in accordance with approved specifications. Pre-Commissioning verifies that systems have been cleaned, tested, calibrated and prepared for operation. Commissioning confirms that integrated systems perform safely and effectively under operational conditions before handover. Understanding these distinctions is essential for successful project delivery.

Operational Readiness ensures that people, processes, systems, documentation and facilities are prepared for safe operation. Commissioning forms one of the key pillars of Operational Readiness by demonstrating that equipment and integrated systems perform as intended before Operations formally accepts the asset.

Throughout the programme, delegates work through a realistic project case study, practical exercises and commissioning simulations based on major industrial developments. These activities allow participants to apply commissioning principles to realistic situations involving technical, organisational and operational challenges.

Yes. Participants receive practical techniques, templates, checklists and approaches that can be adapted for use within their own projects. The emphasis is on improving day-to-day decision-making, planning and collaboration throughout the commissioning process rather than simply understanding theory.
