HRCI (Human Resource Certification Institute) is a U.S. based credentialing organization offering certifications to HR generalists, administrators and managers. It develops and offers world-class learning, as well as the administration of eight global certifications and is dedicated to helping professionals achieve new competencies that drive business results.

HRCI® has set the global standard for HR expertise and excellence through the commitment to the development and advancement of businesspeople in the people business.

The credit hours range from 25 (5-day training course) to 50 (10-day training course) based on the course duration.

To keep your HRCI certification active, you are required to recertify every three (3) years.

To maintain your certification(s), you must complete and submit 45/60 HR-related credit hours (to include at least one ethics-themed activity).

You can get recertified by either retaking the exam via HRCI directly. Or by attending pre-approved HRCI courses offered by a HRCI approved provider.

Educational programs or events that add to an individual’s knowledge of HR would qualify for pre-approval credit.
